Start with what is working and what is not. Is the color feeling too warm, too flat, too dark, or simply different from your current style? Separate the shade you want from the amount of brightness you want. Looking at both makes the conversation more precise. A photo you dislike can also be useful when you can explain the specific detail you want to avoid.
Build from your starting point
Your natural color, previous lightening, at-home dye and other services all belong in the discussion. A noticeable change may require a different plan from a routine refresh. Some goals are better approached in stages rather than treated as a single appointment.
Make the upkeep part of the design
The best color plan is one you can continue to enjoy between appointments. Discuss visible regrowth, tone preferences and how often you want to return. Share how you usually wash, dry and style your hair so the care conversation is practical. Request a quote after consultation, including which services form part of the proposed appointment and which may be separate.
Bring references with a similar starting depth or hair texture when possible. They make the discussion useful without turning a photo into a promise.

Should I request all-over color or highlights?

What is the difference between partial and full highlights?
These terms generally describe how much of the head is included in the placement. The right choice depends on where you want brightness and how you wear your hair. Ask what the proposed service includes rather than choosing solely by its name.
Can I make a big color change in one visit?
That depends on your starting shade, previous color, hair condition and desired result. A consultation is needed to discuss the possibilities. A staged plan may be more appropriate, and an inspiration photo cannot establish the number of visits on its own.
How much do color and highlights cost?
Pricing is quoted after consultation based on the proposed service. Share your current color, hair history and goal when requesting an appointment, and ask about future maintenance as well as the first visit so you can plan the full commitment.
